Each family is required to be a member of the Home and School Association.  As outlined in the Home and School Association Handbook, as a member, each family is expected to pay $20.00 annual membership dues, and perform twenty eight (28) hours of volunteer time benefiting the School, also known as Banked Hours.  If the family chooses, they will have the option to buy out and pay $300.00 ($20.00 annual dues and $280.00 volunteer buyout), rather than volunteer hours.  Unpaid dues and banked hours shall be added to the cost of tuition for the following year.”

Parent(s) and Guardians(s): The Foundation for the Advancement of Catholic Schools will award to St. Stanislaus School Students  5(five) $400 scholarships on the basis of financial need and academic excellence for the 2014-2015 school year.  Interested families can obtain a copy of the application from the school office. All applications must be submitted to the school office no later than April 28, 2014.

Recipients of this scholarship will be made by Foundation for the Advancement of Catholic Schools Scholarship Committee. 

If you are a parishioner of St. Stanislaus Church and have already received 3 books of tickets through the mail, we ask you to sell or purchase the books sent through the school first and if you are unable to purchase or sell any of the others to return them to the church.

Please send your raffle returns to Mrs. Oberg.  She will be recording them as they come in.

Middle School – 6th, 7th, & 8th Grade Student Dance/Game Night thisFRIDAY, APRIL 11th, 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.  Pizza, snacks & drinks for $10.00.  Come listen to music, dance, or play board games with your friends from St. Stan’s, St. Joe’s, and Mt. Carmel.  Additional snacks and drinks will be available for purchase.

Butter Lambs & breads will be available for pickup in the Community Center on April 17th 4:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Come March with St. Stanislaus (or ride the float) in the Meriden Daffodil Parade, Saturday, April 26th 2014. All marchers will receive a jean day pass.  More details to follow.

Crystal Ball Auction tickets are for sale in the school office, or by contacting your room rep.  Tickets are $30pp; $55 per couple; $250 per table of 10 and includes: Dinner, Live Auction, Silent Auction, Raffle, music & dancing.  Items to accommodate every purse are available.  Great girls night out, night with your neighbors, co-workers, friends or family.  Come join in the FUN raising FUNds!  All proceeds are for the kids!

Bread and Butter Lamb orders are due this Friday, April 4th!  Please use the attached order form when ordering.  Butter lambs will be available for pickup in the school before the April vacation, however, breads can ONLY be picked up on Thursday, April 17, from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. in the Community Center.
THE SALE HAS BEEN EXTENDED!  Mixed Bag orders can still be taken up until Friday, April 4th!  Help us reach our goal, we are almost there but could use a few more orders.  These are great bags that make great gifts.  If you haven’t already placed an order, consider doing so today.

The Middle School Dance/Game Night is scheduled for Friday, April 11th in the school cafeteria for 6th, 7th and 8th grade students.  The $10.00 admission includes pizza, snack, dessert, and a drink.  Additional snacks and drinks will be available for purchase.  Mt. Carmel and St. Joseph middle school students have also been invited.  This is a great opportunity to hang out with your classmates and meet other middle school students.  Water Bottle and Capri Sun donations are appreciated.  Please send to the office, Attn: Middle School Dance.

Crystal Ball Auction tickets are on sale now!  Ticket prices are $30 per person; $55 per couple; or $250 for a table of 10!    Auction and raffle items will be available at a great variety of prices to accommodate all pocketbooks.  Remember….this is a FUNdraiser.  Come out and raise some FUN!  All proceeds go directly to the school to support the education of our children.  Auction donations (i.e. new products/items, gift cards to local stores, or bottles of wine) can be given in exchange for HSA hours. Please be sure to mark your donation to receive proper credit. 

Empty tomato sauce/puree/paste cans or jars with labels on are needed.  Please send any cans or jars you may have to the school office.

 
Marketing Support Needed….Parents are the number one marketing tool that we have to market Catholic Schools.  Help us to market the school by placing a “Now Enrolling” lawn sign on your front lawn or at a location that is easily visible and receives a lot of traffic.  Please stop by the office to pick up signs and if you place a number of signs throughout town, you can earn banked hours.   We also want to hear from you with marketing ideas as well as ideas where to place our “Now Enrolling” signs.  Please contact Wendy Gentile (wgentile@gsofct.org) with your marketing ideas and Bill Aitken (bill.aitken@sbcglobal.net ) if you can support place multiple signs throughout town.  Thank you for your support.

Congratulations! This school year we had 298 cards that were registered at Stop & Shop. Because of your support, our school will be receiving a check for $2,512.94! Thank you to everyone who participated! Kristin Masocco, Parent.

The Mixed Bag is a great gift for Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, or graduation.  Completed orders with payment must be turned in by MARCH 31.  In addition to the prize incentives Mixed Bags offers, families selling 5 bags or more items earn jean day passes, and the top dollar earner will receive a $50 Target gift card!  Be sure to check out these versatile, reusable bags – there are sample bags on display outside of the school office.  The school will receive 50% profit on this sale!

 Win Tickets to Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella on Broadway at St. Paul Performing Arts Performance of “A Little Princess” Bristol, CT.  To celebrate the performance of “A Little Princess” the St. Paul Catholic High School Performing Arts Program is pleased to announce a contest to win two tickets to Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella on Broadway including round trip limousine service.  To enter the contest, bring a gently used piece of clothing to any performance of the play at St. Paul’s. The name of each person, who donates a piece of clothing, will be entered to win. No purchase is necessary. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. One entry per person. We will be holding an assembly in honor of Al Terzi visiting Saint Stanislaus School on Tuesday April 8, 2014. Mr. Terzi will be speaking to Pre-K – grade 4 from 8:30AM – 9:30AM and grades 5 – 8 from 10:00AM – 11:00AM. Everyone is invited to join the assembly. We hope to see you there.

The graduation date for Pre-K 3 & 4 and Kindergarten is currently scheduled for Monday, June 16, 2014. The graduation date for Grade 8 is currently scheduled for Friday, June 13, 2014.
 
Student Council will be starting a Drink Pouch Collection through TerraCycle.  Boxes will be out in the cafeteria to collect empty Capri Sun type drink pouches during lunch.  For each pouch collected, TerraCycle pays $0.01, and recycles the collected pouches into new products.  For more information, see the TerraCycle website TerraCycle.com. Expect to see collection boxes next week.
